I think you've got a point, but I think it's only one reason why we were willing to believe and others won't. Looking back on my entry, I think gullibility was the main reason. I listened to the sales pitch, openly questioned it once, and then accepted the logic of Perfect Master showing God within, with no one else able to do it. Once I believed that, then logically I couldn't go anywhere else. It might be interesting to examine why I was gullible, but that was the main reason. I didn't believe in the end of the world, although I don't doubt that some did, especially, as you say, leading up to Millennium, which was just before my time.
