Gee Pat. Real friends don't talk about allegiances. That's political friendship. Real friends love you for yourself, make allowances for when you're less than perfect, and love you anyway. Real friends are there for you when you're in trouble, or just feel down. I know, I'm lucky enough to have some.

Seems as though you're better off without the kind of friend that sees you for what they can get out of you.
